What time do the boats leave?
All of our Charters leave at 6:30 AM.

How long are the Charters?
All Charters are full day, 8 hours.

Where are you Located?
Our office is located inside of Cubana Cigar Outlet on the Touristic Corridor KM 3.5, in Plaza San Juan Diego, next to Hotel Los Patios and two blocks away from Costco. Once a boat is Chartered, your confirming email will contain a Map to locate our place.

How do I Charter a Boat with Los Cabos Fishing Vacations?
Chartering a Boat with us is very simple and fast. Once we have everything lined up, Boat, number of persons boarding the boat, fishing date and whether or not you would like to take advantage of our special package, fill the next form and send it to us. we will contact you by email or phone to review to make sure what we have is correct. A 50% of the total amount is required as deposit - this can be applied to a credit card, the balance can also be applied too, unless you preffer to pay cash, traveler's check or use a different card in our office once you get to Cabo.

Once you have verified correctness there will be a link in the email to pay the deposit. When you finish paying the deposit you will automatically be directed to a page that you will need to print, fill out and fax to us (U.S. fax number redirects to us). Once we receive the fax we will send you a confirmation email with all the info you will need while in Cabo including a map to our location.

Do you do Boat Sharing?
Presently we do not offer boat sharing and to be honest not many do. Boat sharing becomes a problem as we have set pricing for each boat. You would have to divide that between the people boarding the boat and then if someone did not show up the remaining people would have to absorb the no-show… it's gets nasty so we just avoid it.

Will someone met us at the dock?
Not only will we met you at the dock in the morning but we will also met you when you return to make sure all went as planned. Service is not a buzzword for us, it's how we do business.

What do I need to bring?
Personal items such as sunscreen and medication. Please note the UV rating is very high and coupled with the reflection off the water, it can really do you in fast. All of our boats are equipped with overhead shade but it's always a good idea to wear additional protection against sunburn.
Also, if you did not opt for the All Inclusive Package you will need to bring a little extra cash to pay for your License, Live Bait, Drinks, ECT. If you did however choose the All Inclusive Package, just grab a cup of joe and step onto the boat and relax. Oh yeah, and YOUR CAMERA!

Do you guarantee I will catch fish?
No, that's why it's called "Fishing" and not "Catching". However we do feel your chances are as good with us as anyone else. Our catch rates are well respected within the Cabo fishing community.

What is the best time of year to fish?
It really depends on what you want to fish for but if your like most folks it Marlin. A good rule of thumb is the hotter it is the better the fishing will be. Warm water is what they're looking for.

Does the Moon Phase effect fishing?
Generally speaking no. The problem that arises with a full moon is it sometimes effects the live bait availability. The chuhuilla and caballitos tend to swim a little deeper making them harder to catch. However, a full moon also brings out the Dorado so there is a slight advantage there.

Do I need a fishing License?
All persons boarding the boat regardless of whether they will fish or not require a Fishing License.

What is proper gratuity for the crew?
Proper gratuity for the crew is truly up to you. We recommend 10% to 15% but of course it's your call.

How many people will be boarding the boat?
That depends on you as we only rent the full boat to one person, who you bring is up to you. Each boat has a max limit, usually 4 to 8 persons depending on the boat.

What should i wear?
Your fishing apparel should be similar to what you wear at the beach (suntan lotion, sunglasses, towel, shorts, white or clear rubber sole shoes, etc.)

Fishing techniques
There are two techniques for fishing in Cabo San Lucas, trolling and casting. Trolling is very effective; we troll artificial lures and sometimes live bait. When trolling, we put four to five fishing lines in the water with lures of all sizes and colors. The boat travels at 8 - 9 knots in order for the lure to work correctly. Casting is applied when the captain sees a fish afloat (striped marlin, sailfish, and swordfish) and gets as close as possible in order to throw live bait to it. This technique is very exciting because you have the opportunity to see the fish go for the live bait and get hooked! In all of our charters, we include live bait for the day. Sometimes the captain or the mate will suggest buying extra bait for your day of fishing. We do not approve or disapprove of this recommendation; since they know what is biting at the time and how many live bait are lost in the process of casting, we leave this decision up to you. We are always willing to let you apply your own technique or hook setting; but remember, the captains and the mates know these waters better than anyone else. The consider them their own backyard.

Motion sickness
If you are susceptible to motion sickness, we recommend taking over-the-counter medication like DramamineBonineDramamine or Bonine. It is best to take the medication the night before and as soon as you wake on the morning of your charter. Some people have found Sea-Band wrist bands may help also.
